How are you, folks?

You definitely love going through the sunny days of your life. These are the days when your family, your home, and your business are all doing well and safe. We’ll, we’re always happy to know that you’re in such condition. Ultimately , that’s what all of us want to achieve. So, cheers if you’re having a good day!

In such days, having a flood barrier in your home or business seems to be very irrelevant. But, no matter what, living in summertime is not an assurance that you won’t be in dire conditions in the future.

We’re not wishing you something bad; we’re just helping you to think again about disaster preparedness. From our past blogs, you can see what we mean when we say disaster preparedness. For us, being prepared is always tantamount to putting up flood barriers that really work

Speaking of Summertime…

You might be asking, >where should I put my flood barriers (should you purchase one) when it’s not raining hard?

If you’re thinking of that question, then you’re on the right track. You’re not the only one who thought of that.

It’s an intelligent question. After all, you don’t want to put your flood barriers under your bed!

The most common storage mode for FCA flood barriers is the wall-mounted rack, which allows the user to hang the flood barriers when they are not in use. Suspended on a wall, the flood barriers are safe from any potential damage like impact and vandalism.

Put them on storage racks!

That’s the simplest answer. However, you know us; we’ll very meticulous when it comes to details. So, putting the flood barriers on storage racks might be the simplest answer, but not necessarily the simplest explanation.

Hang ‘em on yer walls like trophies!

Since we’ve told you about the flood barriers’ storage racks, here’s its most common form.

Wall-mounted storage racks are the most common type. Made up of hot-dip galvanized steel bars screwed on a wall, this storage rack allows you to hang your flood barriers (on your wall) horizontally.

During summertime, it is best to remove your flood barriers from the side channels and middle posts. If you will not dismount them from their posts, chances are that the flood barriers will be damaged, especially the rubber seals.

So, when hanging your flood barriers on their wall-mounted storage racks, it is also best to hang them upside down. In that way, the rubbers will be protected from any tension that can cause deformation.

Also, putting your flood barriers on a higher level will protect it from possible vandalism or any blunt force.

Place your wall-mounted storage racks somewhere close to your place’s entry point. The rationale behind this is so you won’t find it difficult to deploy the barriers in cases of emergency.

As usual, here’s an option:

If you do not prefer wall-mounted storage racks, we have an alternative that resembles a skeletal shelf. We call this rack-type, since it stands as a simple holder or frame for your flood barriers.

This, too, is made of hot-dip galvanized steel. Because of its weight, it is also best to install the rack-type near the place where you’re supposed to deploy the barriers. If the rack-type storage is far from the deployment area, you can easily transport it through a forklift.

Dragged and Rolled and Pushed

You’re probably thinking that the rack-type is the end of it.

Our goal is not simply to block floodwater. We are also dreaming of a convenient life for you!

And to make it really convenient, we are offering you the trolley-type flood barrier storage. This trolley type resembles the rack storage — but with wheels.

flood control asia rs storage rock trolley typeROLLING AROUND. The trolley-type of storage is designed to make flood barrier deployment more convenient than ever. The flood barriers are stacked on this rack, then rolled away on a safe place like a warehouse or a utility room. Once the threat of flood becomes more serious, these flood barriers can be brought instantly to the location by simply pulling the trolley.

That’s why it’s called a trolley!

It’s a large skeletal shelf with beams all around it where you can place your flood barriers in a horizontal position. Like the wall-mounted and the rack-type, this one too is made of hot-dipped galvanized steel.

What’s its difference with the other two?

Aside from having wheels, the trolley type makes life easier for you. Whenever the need arises, you can easily pull the flood barriers through their trolley.

Such is the reason, why we recommend them for large-scale installations. In Hotel Elbresidenz in Germany, FCA has installed flood barriers covering an area of 380 meters. Definitely, an installation as big as that requires plenty of (and really long) flood barriers!

So, we recommended that they use the trolley-type as storage. Whenever the tides of Elbe River rises up, their utility workers can simply wheel out the trolley with all the flood barriers there.

And, voila! Deployment is instant!

Flood Barriers in your Closet

If you really want everything to be protected — including your flood barriers — you better try this more durable and “sheltered” storage mode.

Lo and behold: the cabinet-type!

flood control asia rs storage rock cabinet typeA SAFE CLOSET FOR FLOOD BARRIERS. The closet-type storage offers a tougher protection for your flood barriers. This closet can be built with a full aluminum component. It can also be recessed into a wall by fixing aluminum frameworks into an existing alcove.

The cabinet-type storage resembles a big steel cabinet. its sizes and appearances vary, depending on your flood barrier.

It’s just a simple steel cabinet, albeit made by hot-dip galvanized frameworks and stainless steel doors. Inside it, there are racks where you can place your flood barriers vertically.

When not in use, you can lock all your flood barriers there, including the other “loose” components like the compression clamps and screws.

The cabinet-type storage is placed, of course, on the place closest to the deployment area. You don’t have to worry if the cabinets are located outdoors. As we’ve said, they are made of hot-dip galvanized steel which is resistant to corrosion. Likewise, the cabinets are impenetrable by water!

Needless to say, this one offers greater protection (and preservation for your flood barriers). The barriers will be safe from any possible incident of vandalism, as well us damaging from blunt forces.

Since we care for you, here’s another option:

Supposed you have a place like a garage and that garage has a recessed wall (or any recessed area). We’re willing to make adjustments; instead of setting up a whole cabinet, we can simply screw some steel frameworks on that recessed wall and turn it into an instant cabinet!

Such storages are called on-site built-in cabinets. They are also cabinets, but we fit them on your place, whenever it is possible to do so.

The advantage?

Aside from saving expenses, the on-site built-in cabinet allows you to store the flood barriers where you think they are safest.

A Trove of Treasure!

Finally!

You probably noticed that we’re offering you the storage modes from the simplest down to the most sophisticated — from the wall-mounted down to the cabinet-type.

Here’s the last, and definitely it’s the most secured of them all.

The chest-type storage is a big steel trove where you can put your flood barriers like a precious treasure. Because this is a large storage mode, we recommend that you place it on a garage, on a yard, or on any open space.

flood control barriers cabinetA CHEST-FULL OF BARRIERS. If you are looking for the storage mode that offers the best protection for your flood barriers, you must try the chest-type storage. This one is a massive aluminum box made to hold your flood barriers and its smaller components like the compression clamps and screws. Since it is water, corrosion, and impact proof, the flood barrier are ultimately safe when stored in it.

In spite of its size, the chest-type’s lid is lightweight and easy to open. You can also use padlocks so no one can open it when the flood barriers are not needed.

Guess what?

The chest-type is impenetrable by water, and is made of corrosion-resistant steel. So even if it’s sitting right there under the sunlight, and a sudden light shower occurs, nothing can harm your flood barriers — including the chest itself.

Bonus:

These days, most of us are really short of finances.

If you’re short of budget, we’ll still not let you store the flood barriers under your bed. Instead, we’ll offer you the metal strap storage.

flood control barriers cabinetSTRAPPED TO SAFETY. The metal straps are both efficient and economical. These are metal frames that are attached to the wall to hold the flood barriers in vertical position.

The metal strap storage (the name of which speaks for itself) allows you to store your flood barriers by leaning them on a wall and securing them with metal rods.

We’ll simply locate a spot in your place that is not easily inundated and is safe from anything that can cause damage to the flood barriers. Once that spot has been located, we’ll screw some really long steel rods and braces on the wall. The same braces are the ones you’ll use as straps for the flood barriers.

There, you have it!

Your flood barriers protect you in times of danger. It’s just fair to protect them too.

With these various modes of storage you can preserve your flood barriers so they are always in their perfect form when you need their service.

Do we need to say more here? Bring these flood barriers into your homes, and — rain or shine — you won’t have to worry anymore!
